Change of Scene

The 5 Rotary Clubs of Northampton are supporting the launch of "Change of Scene".

"Change of Scene" is a project designed to help the young people of the eastern districts of Northampton to improve their access to outdoor sports and nature. This long term and ambitious project has received Lottery funding and represents a partnership of Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council Youth Services, and Residents Associations in the eastern districts, the Police and the 5 Rotary clubs of Northampton.

Club member, Roger Clarke, has lead and coordinated the Northampton Rotary clubs support and commitment to this project to help youngsters to acquire countryside and sporting skills. Young people who take part will be encouraged to participate in activities such as hill walks, canoeing and mountain biking as well as outdoor art and photography.

Our club members will be giving practical support to this project over the next three years. Our club has also committed to making a financial contribution during this period to the "Change of Scene" project.

RambleRide \ Run

Many members of the public and club rotarians particpated in a sponsored walk/ride/run around Pitsford reservoir. In excess of £2,000 was raised, which will be distributed to Rotary supported charities including Northampton County Youth Orchestras and Orquestra Musica Para Todos, "music for every one",  a newly formed orchestra at Madre Teresa de Calcutta School, Virreyesi, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The best presented cyclist, who is obviously a dedicated follower of fashion, was club member Mike Leno.
